Ford offical publish the next-generation 2012 Ford Focus at North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new generation Focus uses current European version of the Fox and the new carnival kinetic design. It will be the Ford’s new classic C segment cars. The new Focus have a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan versions.
The new generation Focus is equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine, with Ti-VCT dual independent camshaft variable valve timing technology, and fuel injection technology with a maximum output power is projected at 155 hp and peak torque of about 201Nm. Compared with the previous 2.0L Duratec engine, its power increase about 20 horsepower, fuel economy is increased by about 10%. It uses PowerShift 6-speed dual dry clutch transmission.
The new generation Focus uses many boron steel ( ultra-high strength materials ), to increase body rigidity and reduce weight. Ford has improved multi-link rear suspension, and add the latest DCC system to improve vehicle stability and flexibility. In addition, also add a EPAS Electric Power Steering system.
