Renault has announced Twizy Z.E. Concept Electric Vehicle. The new EV (electric vehicle) based on the Twizy Z.E. Concept will be produced at Renault’s plant in Valladolid, Spain. The Renault Twizy Z.E. Concept will be a complete range of zero-emissions vehicles.
The Renault Twizy features a pearlescent white coating to the body and “luminous matrix displays” which can be lighted to perform as headlights or taillights. The displays can also communicate emotions to other drivers, such as creating a smiley face.
The Twizy Z.E. concept (2.30 meters in length and 1.13 m wide) is powered by a 15kW (20 hp) electric motor with 70 Nm of torque. Current comes from lithium-ion battery pack installed under the seats. Range is said to be 100 km and the Twizy boasts a top speed of 75 km/h. It’s slated to begin in 2011.
