Mercedes Benz SLM Plug-in Hybrid Supercar
Recently, Mercedes Benz has exposed a SLM supercar, it’s a possibly plug-in hybrid. The main contenders for the Mercedes Benz SLM supercar will be Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Mercedes Benz SLM will use the mid-engine. It will equipped a 3.5L V6 twin turbo engine which will produce up to 359 horsepowers and 110 horsepower electric motor. In addition, Mercedes Benz Coupe version of SLM will be the first to introduce, and in the subsequent launch convertible version is expected starting price will be 16.5 million, pure electric drive version may also be introduced.
It is rumored that the Mercedes Benz SLM supercar will appear in 2014-2015.
Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid
Lotus has formally introduced Evora 414E hybrid at the 2010 Geneva auto show. The Lotus Evora 414E hybrid is so named because it has a power output of 414 hp. It’s also efficient, high performance hybrid sports car.
The Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid uses two electric motors driving each of the rear wheels (at 204 hp each) independently via single speed gear, integrated into a common transmission housing, thus enabling torque vectoring for stability control of the vehicle. On pure electricity, the car will zoom around for 35 miles. After those 35 miles, the Lotus Range Extender engine kicks in offering a total driving range of 300 miles or 480 kilometers. Additional range is provided by the Lotus Range Extender engine, an optimised 85-kilo 1.2-liter 3-cylinder that puts out 47hp engine, its only purpose is to charge the motors (meaning it never directly drives the vehicle). The drivetrain is designed to combine astonishing performance with efficient, low emissions driving. When the batteries need to be charged, it’ll be an overnight process. As for performance, Lotus claims that the Evora 414E Hybrid can sprint from standstill to 60mph in less than 4.0 seconds. For the car’s exterior look, Lotus Design has put together a unique copper-tinted paint scheme to evoke the idea of “electrical systems.”
Fisker Karma super-luxe plug-in hybrid sports sedan
Fisker Automotive has unveiled Fisker Plug-In Karma at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. It’s Fisker first ever production car. Its prices for $87,900.
Karma is a super-luxe plug-in hybrid sports sedan. It uses Q DRIVE hybrid system, and completely in order to power as a driving force, the engine is equipped with the fuel only for the provision of electricity generators to use. Karma fuel consumption is only 100 kilometers of 2.35 liters.
It also uses a GM-sourced 260 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged direct injection Ecotec engine coupled directly to a generator to recharge the batteries. Performance is adequate, launching from zero to 100km/h in just over six seconds and on to a top speed of 201km/h on a wave of continuous torque.
